Signing of the MoU by the Regent of Bantul with PT. Angkasa Pura I

Bantul Regent Drs.H.Suharsono signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with GM Angkasa Pura I Agus Pandu Purnama at the Ros-In Hotel on Monday (2/9).

Also present at the event was the Regent of Bantul, PT Angkasa Pura I (Persero), the relevant OPD, PT. Sumber Inti, as well as regional and sub-district officials throughout Bantul Regency.

Kabag Adm Government of Jazim Azis, S.H. in its report said that the implementation of the cooperation workshop is expected to get input from participants in order to finalize the Regent's regulations on regional cooperation in the District of Bantul. "The hope is to be able to optimize the management of regional potential and resources in order to improve the welfare of the people in Bantul Regency," he said.

While the Regent of Bantul in his remarks said that to prepare Yogyakarta International Airport (YIA) to get the attention of Indonesian and foreign tourists, it needs to be further developed. "Yesterday from Bappeda there are some that we will develop, namely for 2020 the potential that exists in Bantul in particular will be optimized and developed to attract tourists. As we all know, the number of UMKM in the Regency of Bantul has now reached more than 34,000 and most of them are micro and small businesses that have not been able to reach a wider market. Therefore, with the collaboration between the Regency Government of Bantul and PT. Angasa Pura we hope to open new markets, as well as expand the marketing reach for UMKM in Bantul. This is certainly in line with the Bantul regency program to make UMKM the regional economic power. The existence of YIA Airport is both a challenge and an opportunity that we must optimize. Now we are focusing on working on new innovations in the field of tourism to improve community welfare. "He said.

Furthermore GM Angkasa Pura I agreed with the Regent of Bantul that a new airport with a capacity of 20 million passengers could be a great opportunity. "Since May 6, it has operated 14 aircraft movements with various routes and since it was built many foreign airlines have contacted Angkasa Pura I. They no longer transit in Singapore, but want to land directly at YIA. This means that this opportunity really must be captured. With this MoU signed, we hope that there will be a derivation later, namely cooperation between agencies. This time we received around 300 employees at Angkasa Pura I. 70% of employees accommodate the affected villages and Kulon Progo surveyed by the DPRD DIY. The problem is that many regions have potential but have not yet been prepared. Hopefully the absorptive capacity also comes from Bantul, because we provide a land area of 1,960m2 located in a commercial area, dedication to all residents in DIY and later on there will be New Bringharjo displayed at YIA. "He said.

The event was followed by a collaborative workshop with speakers at the Head of Regional Autonomy & Regional Cooperation Drs. Wahyu Krisnadi, M.M, and Government Assistant to the District of Bantul Dra. Sri Ediastuti, M.Sc.
