The Regent of Bantul Hands Over the Sarpras Awards of Waste Management.

Bantul Regent Drs. H. Suharsono handed over the award of facilities and infrastructure (sarpras) for waste management for the society of Bantul  Regency located in Manggala Parasamya II Hall, Monday (9/9).

In his speech, the Regent of Bantul explained that the problem of garbage is often disturbing. "The volume of garbage is getting more and more, the accumulation of garbage is not getting enough attention so it is difficult to overcome. In realizing Bantul Clean Waste in 2019, various efforts have been made. Among these efforts are environmental education in schools, environmental education counseling by universities that collaborate with the Regency Government. Boosts, as well as mutual cooperation and clean up trash in the rivers as well as strategic locations by all elements of the community. "He explained.

The Regent added about Regulation No. 15 of 2011 which was revised to Regulation No. 2 of 2019 concerning Management of Household Waste and Trash of Similar Household Waste. The existence of these regulations on waste management is an obligation for every society. "Some time ago there was a recycled clothing carnival that made us realize that waste has potential. In the development of garbage banks in Bantul Regency, evaluations have been carried out and given appreciation so that people are enthusiastic in managing waste, "he said.

While the Head of the Environmental Service of Bantul Regency, Ari Budi Nugroho, ST, MSc in his report said that the garbage bank competition that took place on August 6-7 was verified so that a championship with 2 categories was obtained. The first category is the beginner's garbage bank (age 3 years) with the first winner Berkah Watu Argomulyo (BWA), the second winner Subur Makmur, the third winner Becik Resik, and Randumas, Migunani and Remaket as champions of hope. "The surrender consisted of 13 three-wheeled motorcycles and 26 garbage carts to 13 independent management groups and 200 garbage bins to schools, hamlets, villages, districts and OPD." he said.

 

The Regent hoped that in the awarding ceremony of the regency waste bank competition and the waste management sarpras it could create a vibrant environment.
